Midwest-CBK President Frederic Contino elected president of National Candle Association

CANNON FALLS, Minn. — Midwest-CBK recently announced that company President Frederic Contino has been elected to serve as the president of the National Candle Association.
Contino was elected during the association’s annual meeting in Las Vegas. He began his 2011-2012 term as president of the NCA on April 7. In his new role, Contino will focus on leading the association in all key areas of safety, product standards and development to advance the candle industry in the U.S.
“I look forward to my tenure in office with the NCA, bringing together all candle industry leaders to support and grow the industry through innovation, technical advances and education,” Contino said.
Contino, who has served as Midwest-CBK president since 2006, has served on the NCA board of directors since 2008, and brings more than 30 years of leadership experience to his new role.
The NCA is a trade association representing U.S. candle manufacturers and their suppliers. According to a press release, members of the association are dedicated to upholding consumer confidence through a commitment to candle quality, safety and science.
